Examination TextMartha Flight aged 30 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Bridget (vulgarly St Brides) London upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Thomas Flight (now a prisoner for debt in the Wood Street Compter) to to whom she was married at the ffleet 12 years ago, that he is a Holster Maker by trade and served the last two years to Mr Woodward a Holster Maker in Durham Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid which expired about 12 years ago, that he never kept house rented tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit John aged three years and upwards and that she is now pregnant. Sworn the sixth day of March 1753 before Benjamin Cox.
