Examination TextThomas Bruce aged 36 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Bartholomew the Great London upon his oath saith that he is a Frame Gilder by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Christopher Hamond a Frame Gilder in Phenix Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid and there served about four years and an half and then went to Sea, that since which time he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that he hath two children by his late wife Ann deceased (to wit) Samuel aged 10 years and William aged 10 days both now living and in the workhouse aforesaid. Sworn the 20th Day of June 1753 before Benjamin Cox.
