Examination Text | Jane Rice aged 30 years lodging at Mr Kelly at the Fox and Goose the corner of Playhouse Passage in Drury Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Hugh Catrell a Victualler in Russell Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of one year and three quarters at the different wages of 3 pounds and 10 shillings and 4 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 15 years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the third Day of May 1753 before Benjamin Cox. |
