Examination TextMary Smith aged 38 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Botolph Bishopsgate London upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Smith (who died about three weeks ago) to whom she was married at the Fleet about 18 years ago, that her said husband hath informed this Examinant that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Cunningham, a Cordwainer in Pump Court in White Hart Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the expiration of his said apprenticeship to this Examinant's knowledge, that she this Examinant hath two children living by her said husband to wit John aged 15 years and Jane aged 10 years both now with this Examinant. Taken in the workhouse the 21st day of Jany. 1767.
