Examination TextMary Morris aged 70 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. Mary White Chapel in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Owen Morris (who died 30 years ago) to whom she was married at Canterbury between 40 and 50 years ago, that she this Examinant hath been informed by her said husband that he was born in Harts Horne Lane, and also that he served his apprenticeship to a Cordwainer in the said Parish of St Martin the Fields, that her said husband never kept house rented tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together to this Examinant's knowledge, nor hath she this Examinant since the death of her said husband, as she this Examinant was passed from Canterbury to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields several years ago. Taken in the workhouse of 21st Day of January 1767.
