Examination TextWilliam Conaway aged about 49 years lodging at Mr Franks's a Bricklayer near Bedfordbury in Chandos Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he hath been informed and verily believes that he was born in the house now occupied by Mr Lucas in Panton Street, that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his father was born in St Martin's Lane as he this Examinant hath been informed, that he died when this Examinant was young, that he was a Gentleman's Servant, that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together to this Examinant's knowledge. Sworn the sixth Day of December 1766 before Peter Planck.
