Examination TextSilence Allen aged 34 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of William Allen (who died in March 1760) to whom she was married at May Fair Chapel the 11th Day of August which was in the year 1752 or 1753, that her said husband (while single and unmarried) was a yearly hired servant in the capacity of Coachman to Lord Falmouth in Spring Garden in the Parish aforesaid for the space of eight years at the yearly wages of 8 pounds diet and lodging, in his Lordship's house aforesaid, and then intermarried with this Examinant, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes, nor hath she this Examinants since the death of her said husband, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit William aged nine years and upwards now with this Examinant. Taken in the workhouse the 14th Day of November 1766.
