Examination TextJames Richardson aged 52 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed as a vagrant from the Parish of Handsworth in the County of Stafford upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Daniel West a Cordwainer the corner of St Martin's Court in Castle Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid, and there served his said Master about four years and then inlisted for a soldier, that he this Examinant never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since he quitted his Master aforesaid, that he was married to his present wife Mary at the Parish Church of St. Mary in Kilkelly [sic] in the Kingdom of Ireland seven years ago by whom he hath one child living to wit James aged three years and upwards now with this Examinant. Sworn the 31st Day of July 1767 before Peter Planck.
