Examination TextThe Examination of Mary Blake servant to Mr Taylor, Hosier near Charing Cross in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields within the liberty of Westminster taken upon oath this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord 1769. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 27 years of age, that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Taylor aforesaid for the space of 14 months at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same yesterday, And this Examinant on her voluntary oath further saith that she is now Great with child or children which is or are likely to be born a bastard or bastards and to become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that John Tabey Kemp Esq lately lodging at the said Mr Taylor's but is now gone abroad did beget her with child or children she now goeth with and is pregnant of, and that he the said John Tabey Kemp is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before Peter Planck.
