| Examination Text | Jane Monk aged 25 years and upwards destitute of lodging upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Alexander Smith a Victualler at the sign of the Windsor Castle in Little Scotland Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 23 months at the yearly wages of 7 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same in August 1766, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath not been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since [sic]. Sworn the 20th Day of March 1769 before Peter Planck. |
