Examination TextWilliam Sutton aged about 39 years lodging at a house let out in tenements in Dirty Lane in Long Acre in the parish of St. Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an Indenture for seven years to Mr. Charles Pearce, a Taylor in Castle Street by the Mews in the Parish aforesaid, and there served his said Master all said term which expired about 16 years ago, that he this Examinant never kept house rented tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Eleanor in the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields about nine years ago. Sworn the fourth Day of January 1769 before Thomas Kynaston.
