Examination TextThe Examination of Caroline Drury lodging in [Angel] Court by Charing Cross in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 10th day of December 1779. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 28 years of age and upwards, that she never was married (except to Vincent Chabrun after the manner of the Church of Rome at the French Ambassador's Chapel in Great George Street about 11 years ago), that she was on the second Day of April in year 1770 delivered at the house of Mr [blank] a Victualler at the sign of the [?] the corner of Princes Street in Drury Lane in the Parish of St Giles in the Fields in the County of Middlesex of a Male bastard child (since christened George) yet living and is become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields. Sworn the day and year first above written before William Hyde, Thomas Bullard.
