Examination TextEleanor Jones aged about 72 years removed by an order of two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace from the Parish of St. Mary Lambeth in the County of Surry to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Cowdrey a Chymist near Lancaster Court in the Strand in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served her said master for the space of one year and upwards all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about12 years ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 18th Day of December 1779 before William Hyde.
