Examination TextThe Examination of Elizabeth Middleton lodging at No.4 the left hand side in Charles Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 26th Day of November 1776. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is about 46 years of age, that she is the wife of Edward Middleton (gone from her) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Alphage London Wall in February (the 23rd) 1757, that her said husband lived in and rented an house and Coach Yard in Bunhill Row in the Parish of St Luke in Old Street in the County of Middlesex for the space of five years at the yearly rent of 30 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 10 years ago, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since to this Examinant's knowledge, that she hath four children by her said husband to wit George aged 12 years and upwards, Joseph aged nine years and upwards, Thomas aged six years and upwards and Elizabeth aged four years and upwards all now with this Examinant. Sworn the 26th Day of November 1776 before Sampson Wright, Thomas Bullard.
