Examination TextMartha Mason aged 36 years lodging at Mr Robinson's a Broker in Little East Street in the Parish of St Giles in the Fields in the County Middlesex upon her oath saith that she is the wife of James Mason (now in the Marshalsea Prison) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Stephen the Evangelist Westminster the 15th March 1761, that her said husband is a grocer by trade and lived in and rented an house in Banbury Court in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of three years and upwards at the yearly rent of 14 pounds besides taxes, quitted the said house at Midsummer last, that he her said husband hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that she hath four children by her said husband to wit Ann aged [fourteen] years and upwards, Mary Grace aged [twelve] years and upwards, Frances aged eight years and upwards and John James aged two years and upwards all now with this Examinant. Sworn the 16th Day of October 1776 before Thomas Bullard.
