Examination TextThe Examination of Mary Ford lodging at Mr Coulthard a Porter near the school in Hungerford Market in the Parish of St Martin the Fields taken this ninth day of December 1775. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is about 42 years of age, that she is the widow of John Ford who died last June to whom she was married at the Fleet about 21 years ago, that her said husband was born at a house known by the sign of the Coach and Horses in St Martin's Lane (but the particular part she cannot tell) in the Parish aforesaid as she this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes, that her said husband never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was yearly hired servant in any one place for twelve months together to this examinant's knowledge, that her said husband's father was a Serjeant in the Guards but where he was born she cannot tell, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was yearly hired servant in any one place [incomplete]
