Examination TextThe Examination of Ann Marrs in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed as a vagrant from the city of Chester taken this [blank] Day of [blank] 177. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is about 34 years of age, that she is the widow Daniel Marrs who died the 15th of May 1773 to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid the 28th April 1760, that her said husband was a yearly servant to Mr Harris a Taylor in George Street York Buildings in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of two years all under one hiring but what wages he had for the same she this Examinant cannot tell as she this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes. That he her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together after he quitted the said Mr Harris's service to this Examinant's knowledge, that she this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband.
