Examination TextThe Examination of Susanna Clayton Singlewoman taken on Oath this Westminster Who upon her Oath Saith she is about Twenty Eight years of Age and that she was never marriedthat she was on Thursday the Eighth Day of November last past delivered of Two ffemale Bastard Children and Twins/Since christened Elizabeth and Susanna) in the workhouse of and in the parish of Saint Martin in the ffields And that the said Elizabeth died on the Twenty fourth Day of the said Month of November last and the said Susanna on the Twenty Seventh of the Same Month and which said ffemale Bastard Children have been chargeable to the aforesaid parish from the Time of their Births to the Time of their respective Deaths And she also further on her Oath Saith that one Edward Duncomb a Marriner now gone to Sea who cohabited with her as Man and Wife several years had Several Times the Carnal Knowledge of her Body on her Bed at the House of one Mrs Kelly in Bedford Bury where they then lodged And that he the said Edward Duncomb did beget her Body the said Two ffemale Bastard Children and is the true and only ffather thereof and no Man else
