Examination TextThe Examination of Dorothy Fendall Singlewoman taken on Oath this Day of Who on her Oath saith she is about Twenty Four years of Age and that she was never married That she was on Tuesday the Twentieth Day of November last past delivered of a Male Bastard Child (Since Christened Richard) in the Workhouse of and in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields And which died on the Seventh Day of this Instant December And that one Giles Townsend a Cabinet Maker now or lately a Journeyman to his ffather Giles Townsend in Nottingham Court near King's Street in the Parish of Saint Giles in the ffields had sometime about the latter End of January or the beginning of February last past the Carnal Knowledge of her Body on her Bed in a Room on the one pair of Stairs forwards in the house of one Mrs King in Brittish Court near Saint Giles's pound in the said parish of Saint Giles in the ffields where she this Examinant then lodged And she further on her Oath saith that he the said Giles Townsend did begeth on her Body the Male Bastard Child and that he the said Giles Townsend is the true and only ffather thereof
