Examination TextWilliam Stone aged 24 years in the workhouse saith that he was bound an apprentice by indenture for seven years to Peter Moreau, a Brasier in Church Street in the Parish of St Anne Westminster whom he there served about one year, and then his master removed into the island of Guernsey and he this Examinant with him and there served the remainder of his apprenticeship which expired two years ago, and that on the first Day of January he was hired by one Mary Tench in Castle Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields to serve for one whole year for the the sum of 5 pounds besides meat drink washing and lodging, that the said the said Mary Tench in Castle Street aforesaid under the said hiring until Easter last, and that he never was married, and that since he left his last mentioned service he never was hired by the year to any other Person never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes.
