Examination TextThomas Emotson aged 24 years in the workhouse saith that he never was married, that he was bound an apprentice by indenture for eight years to one Walter Tate, a Shoemaker then living in Blue Cross Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields whom he there served the space of seven years, and then entered himself on board the Falkland man of war in which ship he served upon the seas the space of two years and upwards, and was discharged therefrom two years ago, since which he never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant. Sworn the [blank]. [In the margin:] Mr Tate now lives in Suffolk Street and confirmed this account.
