Examination TextGrace Gordon aged near 49 years in the workhouse removed from St Giles in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Robert Gordon (if now alive) to whom she was married by Dr Cook at St Anne's Church in Black Fryars 11 years ago, that he was a Taylor by trade and before she married him kept house several years in Earls Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields at the yearly rent of 20 pounds, and that he never kept any house rented any distinct apartment of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes since as she this Examinant ever heard, and further saith that about 10 years ago her said husband went away left her and their then then lodging and in the house of one Mr Meek in Earls Court aforesaid, and that she hath not seen him since but hath been informed that he is concealed within the city of London and that she hath no child living by him.
