Examination Text | Edward Strem aged 36 years removed from St Margaret's Westminster and now in the workhouse of and belonging to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith he is by trade a Gingerbread Maker and lived in and rented an house in Round Court in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields one year and a quarter and agreed to paid 16 pounds rent for the same, paid rent to Mr Newton, quitted the same 10 years ago since which he never rented a house or apartment of 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or hath been a yearly hired servant, hath know wife or child living. Sworn [the 29th day of July 1742]. |
