Examination TextDorothy Ross aged about 54 years upon her oath saith she lay last night at house the corner of Church Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith she was married to her present husband George Ross (now in Scotland) in St Bartholomew's Church in Smithfield about 16 years ago, that he was born in Scotland and was by trade Taylor, and lived in and rented a house of 20 pounds per annum rent in Harvey Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for half a year and paid to the poor there, that her said husband quitted the same in the year to 1729 since which he never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes, that he hath been gone from this Examinant 12 months, hath no children living. Sworn the 28th day of July 1742 before me James Fraser.
