Examination TextHannah Spence aged 27 years apprehended as a Rogue and Vagabond on the steps at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields within the liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex and brought before me one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the liberty aforesaid this 18th Day of September 1742. Who upon her oath saith she never was married nor bound an apprentice kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Muzered who kept the sign of the Black Horse alehouse in Bedfordbury in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields one year and five months, had 4 pounds per annum wages diet washing and lodging, quitted the same about eight years ago and hath never been a year together a yearly hired servant in any place since. Sworn the day and year above written before me James Fraser.
