This Indenture Witnesseth That William Davis< no role > & Edward Clark< no role > Churchwardens
John Henley < no role > John HughesJohn Lacey< no role > & Samll. Whitmore< no role > Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of
St. Clement Danes in the County of Midd with the assent of Hugh Chamberlen & Leonard
Hancock Esqrs. Justices of the poore for the County of Middx & Citty & liberly of Westmr.
according to the Statute in that case made & provided have putt Elizabeth Medlam< no role >
Apprentice to Elizabeth Hall< no role > & with her after the manner of an Apprentice to dwell
& serve from the day of the date hereof into the full end & terme of seaven yeares
from theme next ensueing & fully to be Compleate & ended Dureing all which said
terme wee the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poore with the assent aforesaid
Doe order & appointe the Said Apprentice well & faithfully her said Mistresse shall
serve her secretts keepe her Comandmts lawfull & honest every where shall
gladly doe, hurt to her said Mrs: shee shall not doe or consent to be done of others
but that shee to her power shall prvent the same or else from time to time
admonish her thereof the goods of her Said Mrs: shee shall not wast nor their
to any body lend without her consent neither from her service by day or night
shall not absent herself Taverns or Alehouses shee shall not frequent, at
cards dire or any other unlawfull game shee shall not [..] pray whereby her
Mrs: may receive any prsudice Fornicacon shee shall not comitt Matrimony
dureing the said terme shee shall not contract but in all things as a good &
faithfull servt. ought to doe shall behave herself towards her said Mrs: & all
hers dureing the said terme And the said Elizabeth Hall< no role > shall teach and
instruct or cause to be taught & instructed her said Apprentice housewiferie
according to the best Skill shee hath and shall give to & provide for her said
Apprentice Sufficient Meale drink Washing lodging apparrell & all other
necessaryes meet & convenient for such an Apprentice dureing the said
terme And for the true performance of all the articles in forme aforesaid to be
kept the said parties to these prsent Indentures bind themselves each to other by
these prsents In witnesse whereof the parties to these prsent Indentures have
Interchangeably sett their hands & seales the Twenty seaventh day of July
in the Fourth yeare of the Reigne of King William & Queene Mary over
England &: Annoqz dui 1692
