This Indenture Witnesseth that John Smith< no role > & William Dives< no role > Churchwardens Thomas Mullen< no role >
James Stratford< no role > John Barker< no role > & Richd. Smith< no role > Overseers of the poore of the parish of
St. Clement danes in the County of Middx with the assent of hugh Chamberlen & Leonard< no role >
Hanork Esqrs: Justices of the peace for the County of Middx & Citty & liberty of Westmr.
according to the Statute in that case made & providers have putt Edward Harper< no role >
Apprentice to John Natts< no role > & with him after the manner of an Apprentice to dwell
& Serve from the day of the date here of unto the full end & terme of eight yeares
from thence next ensueing & fully to be compleate & ended dureing all which said
terme wee the Church wardens & Overseers of the poore with the Assent aforesaid
doe order & appointe the said Edward Harper< no role > well & faithfully his said Mar: shall serve
his Secretts keepe his Comandments lawfull & honest every where shall gladly doe hurt
to his said Mar: he shall not doe nor consent to be done of other but that he to his power
shall prvent the same or else from time to time admonish him thereof the goods of his
said Mar: he shall not wast nor them to any body lend with out his consent neither from his
Service by day or night shall not absent himself Taverus or Alehouses he shall not
Frequent unlesse it be about his Mars: businesse there to be done at Cards dice or any
other unlawfull game he shall not play whereby his Mar: may receive any prjudice
Fornicaton he shall not comitt Matrimony dureing the said terme he shall not contract
but in all things a good & faithfull Servt. ought to doe shall behave himself
towards his said Mar: and all his dureing the said terme. And the said John Watts< no role >
Shall teach & instruct his Sd. Apprentice in the Art Mistery or Trade of a
Taylor which he now useth according to his best Skill & Knowledge & shall give to
and provide for his said Apprentice sufficient meate drink washing lodging
Apparell linnen & all other necessaryes meete & conveinent for such an Apprentice
dureing the said terme And for the true performance of all the Articles in forme
aforesaid to be kept the said parties to there prsent Indentures bind themselves each
to other by there Prsents Inwitness to hereof the parties to these Prsent Indentures
Interchangeably have sett their hands & Seales the Sixth day of August
in the third yeare of the Reigue of King William & Queene Mary over
England Etc: Annoqr Dui 1691
