Representation of ye.
[..] Commee about granting
& Receving Leases.
Your Grand Committee take Leave further
to represent to this General Court that altho the general
Rule laid down by the Order of this Court of the seventh
of April 1704 which they desire may be now read in regard
to Grants and Renewals of Leases of the Estates belonging
to this Hospital is in the generall a very good Method
and fit to be observed. yet it may in some Cases be inconveni
-ent and prejudicial to the Hospital, For the Grand Com
mittee who are intrusted with the Conduct of its Affairs to
be absolutely and in all cases tyed down to that Regulation
Your Committee therefore submit it to this Court whether it
may not be proper that they should be impower'd when they
find it for the Benefit of the Hospital to Grant Leases
for a longer Term than Twenty one Years and to renew
Leases sooner than within three Years of their expiring.
to which they are limitted by the Order beforementiond:
making Report from time to time of their Reasons for so
