I motion being made by 3r Robert Gefferys< no role > and Seconded by 3r Peter Daniel< no role > , that in
regard Mr William Sowton< no role > , the Minister of the pish of St Thomas in Southwark a Dependent
of this Hospital (by the Constitution thereof ) for a maintenance hath barely Sixty pounds
P ann at prsent allowed him by this House, he might have his Salary Augmented,
This Court Ordered that from Michaelmas next Fifteene pounds P Annu be paid the
Said Mr Sowton Quarterly, by equall parcons, over and above the before menconed
allowance, untill this Hospital shall thinke fitt to provide him a Convenient dwelling
House.

None to be Admitted
without Peticon


That no person be admitted a Patient of the Hospital , but upon Petition to the President
and Governors thereof, and upon the usuall dayes of takeing in of Patients, unless in cases of
Wounds or Hurt by Suddain accident.

Number of Patients


That the numbers of Patients, within the House, be with all convenient Speed,
reduced to One hundred and Sixty, and that afterwards no greater number be kept within
the House, at any one time.

Extra Patients


That for Six weekes or two moneths, only, in every year to wit in Spring and
Fall, Extra Patients shall be allowed and that too, not without the Advice of the
Physicians of this Hospital, and without any charge to the House besides Physick
and Chyrurgical Remedies.

Skillett Carriers
& Helpers


That no Skillett Carriers, or helpers to the Sisters shall be allowed, at the
Charge of the House, Except in Such cases only, as the President, or the Treasurer
of this House , shall Judge fitt.

Patients


That none of the Patients of the House shall be brought upon the four penny
or two penny Score, but by the Advice of the Physicians, or Chyrurgeons , for their
respective Patients.

Consumption


That no consumptive persons be admitted Patients of this Hospital, but in
Extraordinary cases, and that those few of them that shall be admitted be placed in
the most Ayry Wards of this House.

Prescription
of Phisick


That all Patients of this House, who Shall refuse to take the Physick
prescribed to them respectively, by the Physicians thereof, or who shall presume
to take any Physick or have any outward applications but by the Advice of the
Physicians or Chyrurgeons of this Hospital, shall be forthwith Expelled this house

Chirur & Matron


That the Chyrurgeons and Matron & Sisters of this Hospital and their respectively
assistants, shall from time to time as often as they shall be thereunto required give
a true account of the names & Condicon of the Patients under their respective care
to the Physicians of this House, To the end they may have all needfull assistance
from the Said Physicians towards the Expediting or Pfecting their cure, And
to the further intent that those who shall refuse to comply therewith, or who
according to the Judgment of the Said Physicians, and Chyrurgeons are either
cured or incurable (when the Governors shall be thereof informed) may be
Discharged.

Then this Court appointed that this House shall be Visited Quarterly & every
quarter of a year by the President or Treasurer thereof, Together with the Takers
in for the time being, and Such other Governors of this Hospital as the President
or Treasurer shall for that purpose nominate and appoint To the end that all
such Psons as shall appear to be cured or to be incurable, or to reject the meanes
used for their recovery may be dismissed the House.

Sister


And further Ordered that Margarett Kiddermister Sister of Dorcas's
Ward for her non complyance with the Rules and Orders of this House, and
misdemeaning herselfe towards the Matron thereof, be discharged from her
Employment, and depart the House a Foone as shee shall be paid Twenty
pounds, which is Order'd to be forthwith paid her upon her delivery up of
a note taken for it under the hand of Mrformerly Treasurer
of this Hospital, And Mary Belcher< no role > is appointed Sister of that Ward in her
Stead.

Who Mary Greffham< no role > is appointed Sister of Jonass Ward in the Roome
of Bridgeett Storey< no role > lately Deceased.
