Mr Goldsmith
Mr. Treasurer has seen yours of the 26th. inst. wherein you
propose the Selling of 48 Scrub Oak Timber Treas containing about 12 Loads
and 16 Ashan Treaswhich you value at £33- And 16 Askn Trees
containing about 3 Loads valued at £8..10 as they now stand in Chalk
Shawes Wood being 12A:2R: ye beside 32. Timbers Trees which you have
marked to stand and 5 more which you he as allow'd for Repairs for the
Tenant And you likewise set forth that you have taken Carr against
the next Fall of those Underwoods to preserve the growing Timber by
marking 150 Staddles next to Timber (being 12 P Acre) to stand
In Answer to which Mr. Treasurer desires that, as you have always
shewn as steady Regard to the Interest of the Hospital, you will
continue to promote the same to the atmost of your Power And doubts
not but you will sell those Trees (which you think are now fit to come
down) for their worth, according to the best of your Judgement

to my hands and the Bill inclosed for £79..15..3 is accepted, which
as you observe, falls short of the half year's Rent due at Michs
last by 21st will take Care to remind

Mr. Redford & Ravenscroft have applied to have a Valuation
made of the Fixtures left in the three Tonn Coffee house at the time
of their quitting it, in order to their being allow'd for them in their Rent
As you were well acquainted with the Particulars at that time
Mr. Treasurers has directed me to desire your Opinion of the Value
of those Fixturesif you should want the Inventory to refresh
yr. Memory I will send it, or wait on you with it whenevery you
shall appoint
