Mr. Taylor
I Expected to have heard from Mr. Barringer of Yr. having
Paid him by this time another Year's Rent according to the time Ton
fix'd when I was at Eltisley I am now to let you know that the Govrs.
will not suffer themselves to be trifled with any longer, and that unless
yo. pay a Years Rent immediately, they will not only taken proper
Methods to recover what you owe them but orders likewise the Collage
to be let to another

Mr. Barringer
I reced yrs of the 3d inst: but was too much engaged in
Business to answer it sooner. Mr. Treasurer desires you well give
directions for doing the Repairs for Gregory in such a manner as you
shall find necessary, and let him Know that the Gentlemen expect
he should pay off very soon some more of the Rent that is due from
him, the Arrear being too large to be suffer'd to remain in the hands of
any one TenantI have according to your advice, sent to Taylor
by this post, in Positive Terms to pay another years Rent immediately

Mr. Pretlove
Yr. Letter of 22d. inst. concerning Mr. Smiths Wells at
Parndon has seen considered by Mr. Treasurer, who is of Opinion
that you have not made it deep enough yet you say the Water is
up to yr. Knees, that is about two Feet, which cannot be sufficient to
serve the Family therefore you are desired to dig the Well deeper, &
if you find it answers, then to put in new Trees & do the other
necessary Repairs to the Pump as mention'd in Yr. Letter
