one of the Watchmen
of the
Parish of St. Martin in the Fields
taken upon Oath this 14th. day of
January 1748
This Informant upon his Oath Saith That
last Night about 12 o Clock he heard an Affray in the
Street and upon his going to the Place where [..] it
happened He did see [..] a Person unknown [..]
knock at the Door of one Mrs. Hall and thereupon
several Gentleman came out of the House aforesaid
and one of them who now Calls himself Richard
Moreton< no role >
Struck one William Howard< no role >
several times
with a Stick that he the said Richard Moreton< no role >
had in his Hand upon which he this Informant went
to call some of his Brother Watchmen and upon his
his Return found the said William, Howard lying in
the Street dangeronly Wounded a [..] dyed of such
Wound or Wounds soon after this Informant returned
with Assistance as aforesaid And this Informant
further Saith not.
