The Information of John Williams< no role > a Watchman of St. Martins
touching the Death of William Howard< no role > taken upon Oath this 14th day of
January 1748 .

Who saith that as he was coming up St. Martins Lane he heard a Noise of Three People
Quarrelling whom he Advised to go home when the Deceased and Edwd: Wood< no role > Stwo of the said People went up the Lane
Soon afterwards the Deceased Returned with the said Wood and asktthe Gentleman whom the
Quarter
in the Court the meaning of his being Insulted in the Street upon which the said Gentleman
Hrocht [..] at a Door in the Passage when Several Men came out Ormid wtt. Sticks but this Deponent,
Saw no other Weapons and that one Moreton whose Name he has Since learnt gave Several
Blows wth. a Stick to the Deceased, in a few Minutes they returned into the Same House and
Soon afterwards the Deceased Expired
