The Information of Edward Wood< no role > Servant to Mr: Edmund
Aubery
< no role > Coachmaker at Charing Cross in the Parish of St
Martin in the Fields and Jane< no role > the Wife of Charles Kerr< no role >
Lodging at Mrs. Halls near the Bottom of St: Martins
Lane in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields aforesaid
taken upon Oath this 17th. day of January 1748

And first this Informant [..] Edward Wood< no role > upon his
Oath saith That in as [..] Affray which happened on the 13th. Instant at
Night between One William Howard< no role > deceased and a Person unknown
a Gentleman in an Officers Habit with a Shoulder Knot (but whether
Silver or Gold he this Informant can't tell) [..] and without a Hal
cause down the Stairs and [..] [..] of a House where the said Person unknown had
Knocked at the Door which said Person in the Officers Habit called
the said William Howard< no role > and [..] shook him and the said Howard
asking the Reason why he was Collared the said Person in the Officers
Habit Struck the said Howard Once or Swice thereupon an Affray
ensued and four or five Gentlemen came out of the House aforesaid and
one of the said four or five Gentleman had either a Sword a Hanger
drawn in his Hand Whereupon this Informant ran to the Watch house
for Assistance and upon his return with such Assistance found the
said Howard lying in the Street dangerously Wounded of which Wound
or Wounds the said Howard soon expired. And this Informant further
saith not

And this Informant Jane Here upon her Oath Saith That
on the 13th. Instant January between 11 and 12 at Night, Capt. Abraham
Clark
< no role > , Capt.Campbell and Mr. Archibala Blair were all in Company
with this [..] Informant at her Lodgings aforesaid and after they
had been in Company together some time Mr Blair went down Stairs
to change a Guinea, and soon after the said Mr Blair [..] was gone
down she this Informant heard a Noise in the Court and a Knocking
at the Door with a Cry of Murder whereupon the said Capt. Campbell went
down Stairs and returned imediately, but [..] the [..]
Knocking at the Door being repeated he the said Capt. Campbell
insisted upon going down again which he accordingly did and soon
returned with his Sword drawn and all Bloody and Say'd that he
had killed a Man And thereupon the said Capt. Campbell and Blair
went away in a great Henry and returned no more And this Informant
