not know who took it from the Office the Messuage
I left with the Certificate was for Nicholson to give
it to Mr.. Butcher or any of Evan's Friends when they
applied for it, I cannot recollect who told me the
first Certificate was not right I think I left out
the nature of the Complaint in the first Certificate
did not see Evans go out of the Prison and was
surprize'd when I missed him out of the Ward
do not know who went with him out of the Prison
Mr.. Butcher; two or Three days after Evans was sent
up into the Sick Ward, I was at the Prison, said
Sir, Evans is very ill will you permit him to have
some Wine sent him my Answer was that he
might send him about one Pint at a time for that
I would never suffer any Prisoner to have more
than that Quantity in one Day, on that Evening
or the day following I cannot recollect which there
was about a Dozen of Wine sent to my house
directly for Evans and I did take to Evans
about 3. or 4. different times about a Pint each
time, Evans was not more than 4. day's in the
Prison after the Wine was sent to my Old House
I think the Wine was directed to Mr.. Evans to be
left at Mr.. Webbs, I do not think I saw Butcher
more than once or twice after the Wine was sent
do not recollect that any thing passed about
the Wine when Butcher came for the Certificate
I kept the Wine in the Hamper about 4. Months
expecting it would be sent for Mr.. Raven never
spoke to me about the Certificate or Evans, Raven
never said any thing to me about Butcher I was
in Company with Butcher at Raven's house< no role > one
Morning about an hour and an half I called
in as I came by with Mr.. Aris who I believe
was going to the Admiralty or the Duke of
Portlands I cannot recollect that any Conversation
passed about Evans there and am not certain
that it was during the time Evans was in
Custody he had a great deal of Conversation with
Butcher about Raven
