that the Box with the Sugar Candy he could Swear to, the other he
could not, nor the pieces of Cloth nor the Cardinals; the Box was going
to Rolfe of Newberry, That the Shopman to Mr Moore of Cheapside
went to Mr Blackborow's Office and declared upon examining the private
Marks that th Cardinals were Mr. Moore's Property and that they were
sent by the Waggon; Mr Frampton's Shopman owned the Box with the
Sugar Candy - The Property was left with Mr Blackborow; That soon
after he and the Carrier several times applied to Mr Blackborow for the
property but that Mr Blackborow always made some excuse or often, at
one time Mr Blackborow said he would advertized them. - Mr Blackborow
afterwards told him that he had advertized. them all and that he believed
Mr Blackborow shewed him the Advertizement, He many times afterwards
applied to Mr Blackborow who always put him off with some frivolous
excuse and that he has never heard any thing of the Goods. That in
consequence of an Anonymous Letter he went to Newgate where a Man
acknowledged that he was one that Robbed the Waggon.

Thomas King< no role > said that King the Carrier of Newberry is his
Fathers Brother, he attended Mr Blackborows Office with his Uncle, Mr.
Blackborow told him that he had advertized the things, that people had
appeared and sworn to them and he had delivered them accordingly
Lavender then Clerk to Mr Blackborow told him at a Public House the
London Spa Row Clerkenwell , that at the time Mr Blackborow told him
the Goods were owned they were then at Mr Blackborow's and added that
he had not offered a sufficient Sum and therefore they were detained; that
he had employed a Mr Rhodes an Attorney in the Neighbourhood to recover
the property but in consequence of Mr Blackborow's illness nothing had been
done.

Your Committee adjourned to the Eleventh of August When
Mr Blackborow Stated That Mr Read came several times to get him
his Licence when Mr Blackborow said he would do him what service he
could, one time he desired Mr Blackborow to accept half a Guinea himself
Told him he was surprized, he should offer him Money and would not
suffer him to give his Clerk Mr Lavender any Money nor accept any
