Middlesex

At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden in and for the County of Middlesex at the Session
House for the said County (by adjournment) on Thursday
the Ninth day of December in the Thirty First Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of Great

William Mainwaring< no role > Esquire the Chairman laid before the
Court a Letter from Charles. J. Cottrell Esqr and a Letter from James Hubbald< no role >
Esqr . one of the Justices of the peace for this County which were Read in the
following Words vizt.

"William Mainwaring< no role > Esqr . Session House Clerkenwell Green , London.

'Sir ,

I take the liberty of putting into your Hands the following
List of Persons in the Parishes of South Mimms & Hadley fit to serve the
Office of High Constable in consequence of an Application to me from the Clerk
to the Justices acting in this Division at their last Meeting at Enfield , when
he informs me that Colle. Hulbert & Mr. Coleman requested I would furnish
a List of two or three such Persons to the next Quarter Session; And Mr.
Coleman informs to day that as he shall not be able to attend before Thursday
having a very bad Cold, he desires I will present his Compts. to you with
this List, list the Appointment of a Successor of the present High Constable
Field should previously take place & that he should make a Return of the
Names of Persons as improper to serve, as I understand from Mr Coleman
he himself has prov'd

I have only to observe that of the three I shall mention in the
List the first John Goodwin< no role > is the one who will be able to serve with
