of the Act of Parliament in such case made, by Ordering such Rogues and
Vagabonds to be whipped or sent to the House of Correction before
they are passed Whereupon and to the Intent that the said Act may be
put in Execution It is now Ordered by this Court that it is be And it is
hereby recommended unto his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the peace for this
County respectively to order such Rogues or Vagabonds as shall be
apprehended by any Constable or other such officer or Person and brought
before any such Justice or Justices of the Peace to be Publickly Whipt by
the Constable Petty Constable or Tythingman or some other person to
be appointed by such Constable, Petty Constable or Tything man of
such Parish or place where such persons were apprehend (which
Whipping may be inflicted in the House of Correction by such Petty
Constable or other person by him appointed or to order such person
to be sent to the House of Correction thereto remain untill the next
General or Quarter sessions or for any less time, as such Justice or
Justices shall think proper, and after such whipping or Confinement
such Justice or Justices of the Peace are by the said Act empowers if
they think Convenient by a pass under hand and seal in the Manner
and form directed by the said act to Cause such persons to be conveyer
to the place of their last legal settlement, but if it cannot be found.
then to the place of their Birth, or if such Persons or any of them
be under the age of fourteen years and have any Father or Mother
living then to the place of the abode of such Father or Mother thereto
be delivered to some Churchwarden Chappel Warden or Overseer of
the Poor of such Parish Town or place and if Any Person or Persons
shall be publickly whipt as aforesaid Then to Order them to be
passed and Conveyed in such manner as is above mentioned
without Committing them to the House of Correction for any time
and it is also recommended to his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the peace
in each Division to appoint convenient places and frequent times
of meeting for the more effectual putting the said Act in execution
