of the Peace in and for the said County this 4th
day of December 1786
Who saith that on Saturday the 4th of Novr. last Martin
Kenneman of [..] chester Street Whitechapel
in the Country of
Middlesex
Milkman delivered to this Informant at the General
Post Office London the Letter or Cover directed to this Informant
now produced that upon opening the same he found it to contain
Twelve Bank Notes of the Value of £230 on each of which
as well at on the aforesaid Letter or Cover he immediately wrote
his name that the said Martin Kenneman also delivered to
this Informant the Letter directed to Mrs. Kenneman & now
produced whereon he also immediately after wrote his name
by which Letter it appears she was requested by the Writer
thereof to put the Inclosure directed to this Informant into the
first penny Post Office in Whitechapel
as soon as possible for that it
was a Matter of Consequence And this Informant further saith that the
Bank Note of £10 now produced No. 7553 dated the 26th. Septr. 1786
is one of the Bank Notes contained in the said Cover so directed to
this Informant as aforesaid.
