London to wit

Articles of the Peace exhibited by Ann the Wife of Christopher
Henry Edwards< no role > against her said Husband, now a Prisoner in Wood Street Complex Her was &
of Sureties, through Fear of her Life, or of bodily Harm to be done, or procured to
be done unto her by her said Husband.

First the said Ann Edwards< no role > on her Oath Saith, that she hath been married to
the said Christopher Henry Edwards< no role > Sixteen Years and for the last ten Years her said Husband
hath so much addicted himself to Idleness and Drunkenness, that upon in Liquor he
behaves like a Bradman, stamping, rosing sevearing and threatening to blow up all the
bloody Neighbourhood of Creed Lane and Holiday Yard, whereby many and frequent
Alarms and Disturbances have been created in the said Neighbourhood, and the Life of her
this Examinant often times endangered.

Item-This Examinant Further saith, that her said Husband hath very often
assaulted her with Knives, Forks and other Dangerous Instruments, threatening to murder
this Examinant and at the same time Declaring "he never should red till he did bloody Murder"
and Examinant to save her Life was obliged to run away out of the House.

Item-This Examinant Further saith that her said Husband for such Correct and
Misdemeanors against the publick Peace hath been six or seven times committed to
Prison by the Magistrates of this City For want of Sureties on the Oath of her this
Examinant and particularly about a Month ago For assaulting her with a large Fork
and threatening to run it in the bloody Grits of her this Examinant, and also holding part
of a marble Slab, said. "blast you, you Bitch I'll there this at your Bloody Brains"

Item-This Examinant Further saith, that she hath frequently forgiven her said Husband
and released him out of Prison and once before exhibited Articles of the Peace against him, but,
although he promised he hath not amended, and she doth not prefer these Articles from
any other Motive, than that of regard for her personal Safety, thinking he will one day murder
her if he is not confined.
