And the Jurors aforesd. upon their Oath aforesd. further
present that the said Hermanus Berens< no role >
on the said 21st Day of
December in the 20th year aforesaid and long before & always after
until the day of the taking of this Inquisition was inhabiting
& resiant pay scot & bearing Lot within the said parish of St. Botolph
without Bishopsgate
in the Ward of Bishopsgate
aforesaid
and that within the ward of Bishopsgate
afsd. there is & from
the time whereof the memory of Man is not to the Contrary
there hath been a certain Court of our Lord the now King and his
Predecessors called the Wardmote held and to be held in every year
in & upon the Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle
(unless the sd.
Feast happened to be or fall on a Sunday & in such case upon the Day
then next following the said Feast before the Alderman of the
Ward aforesd. for the time being or his Deputy in which said
Court according to the Custom within the said Ward for all
the time aforesd. used & approved at the parish of Saint
Hellenin the Ward of Bishopsgate
aforesaid in London afsd. all the Men inhabiting & resiant
paying Scot & bearing Lot for the time [..] aforesaid being within
the Ward aforesaid have been used & accustomed & ought & were
bound by reason of their residence there to appear in the said Court
