The Jurors for our Sovereign Lord< no role > the King upon their Oath
present, that the City of London is an Ancient City and
that according to the Custom of the said City from the time
whereof the Memory of Man is not to the contrary used and
approved in the same at a Court of Wardmote held for the ward
of Bishopsgate in London that is to say at the
parish of Saint Hellenwithin the sd. Ward
according to the Custom of the said City and Court aforesd. on the
21st day of December in the 20th. year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord< no role > George the Third King of Great Britain Etc
bafore James Townsend< no role > Esquire then and now one of the
Aldermen of the said City and then & yet Alderman of the said
Ward, [..] Herman [..] Berens< no role > late of London Merchant
then and long before being are Inhabitant & Resiant within the
Ward aforesd. (to wit) at the parish of St. Botolp without Bishopsgate
within the said Ward and a fit and proper person to execute the office
of One of the Inquest of the said Ward called the Wardmote Inquest
was lawfully and in due manner according to the Custom of the sd. City
and Court of Wardmote aforesd. then & there elected to be one of the
