Lot within the Ward afsd. Constable within and the sevl. precinets of the sd. Ward
for the preserving the Peace of the Lord the King and for the apprehending of Rogues
Vagabond and other Suspicions Persons within the said Ward for the Public Good
which said Persons so appointed and chosen were used & accustomed & ought to hold
the sd. Office last mentd. for the year then used ensuing and untill other persons should be elected to the said Office last mentioned and also were used & accustomed & ought on the Monday next
after the Feast of the Epiphany next after their sd. Election to take their Corporal Oath
for the due Execution of their sd. Office last mentd: at Guildhall of the said City of
London in the Court then hold before the Mayor & Alderman of the sd. City for the time
being for all the time afsd: and that the sd. Hugh Johnson< no role > on the sd. 21st: day of Decr.
in the 19th: Year afosd. in the sd. Court of Wardmote then holden for the Ward afosd: within
the sd. Ward to witwithinat the Parish of Saint Dionis Back Church in the Ward of
Langbourn aforesaid before the sd. John Sawbridge< no role > Esq then & now one of the Aldr.
of the said City and then & yet Alderman of the same Ward was lawfully and in due manner
by the Men inhabiting & resiant paying Scot & bearing Lot within the sd. Ward according
to the Custom of the same Ward & Court aforsd. for & during the whole time afsd. used elected
to the Office of Constable for the Precinet of Saint Clement Lane being one of the Precinets
of the sd. Ward for one whole Year then next Ensuring and untill another Person should be
Elected into the sd. Office last mentd. for the preserving the Peace of our said Sovereign Lord the
King and for the apprehending of Rogues Vagabond & other suspicious Person within
the Ward afsd. for the Public Good And that the sd. Hugh Johnson< no role > afterward to wit one
