25th. Day of March 1758
Who being on Oath says that he has known one Richard William
Vaughan< no role >
about five Months; that about five steeks ago he applied to this
Informant to get him a Bank Bill of twenty Pound charged; that soon after
the the said Vaughan came to him again and asked him if had ever a Stable
that wou'd hold six Horses to let; that if he had he wou'd recommend this
Informant to a Tenant, that this Informant, who was then in George
Yard
opposite Hotton Garden
Holborn
, replied, that he had no stable that
wou'd hold six Horses, but the he had one that wou'd hold two, to let
That the said Vaughan then said that the wou'd not do; & then asked this
Informant to take a walk with him; that they went together to a Coffee
House near Turnisals Inn
; that in Their way thither the said Vaughan
ask'd this Informant if he cou'd give him Cash for some Bank Bills; [..]
for that he had got twenty by him of Twenty pounds each; that this
Informant told him that he had no Cash himself, but that he, the said
Vaughan, might get them changed at the Bank. And this Informant says
that the said Vaughan told him he was a Bankrupt; that his Certificate was
not signed, and therefore that he did not cheese to appear at the Bank
Sworn before me this
