this 30th. day of March 1758
Who being on Oath says that he is an Apprentice
to Mr.
Fourdrinier Stationer
and Engraver
at Chairing Crass
, say
that about a Month ago Mr. Richard William Vaughan< no role >
came to
his Master's House and brought a small Plate up Stairs to this
Informant on which was Engraved, to the best of this Informants
remembrance the following words (For the Govs & Compy. of the
Bank of Engd. says that the said Vaughan, then gave this
Informant some Papers which were foulded up, and desired him
to Print the said direction from the said Plate, on a Blank left
for that purpose in the said Papers, and that he this Informant
did not know what was Contained in that part of the papers so
delivered which was foulded up, and says that to the best of his
remembrance he printed off eight and forty of the aforesaid
directions.
