The Information of Charles Ward< no role > taken
before me this 28th. March 1758

Who being upon Oath says, that he [..] is by
Trade an Engraver , that he lives in Ruport Street
and that on Monday the 20th. of [..] third month in
the afternoon, a Person new present who
calls himself Richard William Vaughan< no role > Came to
the House of this Informant who not being [..]
then at Home, was sent for, and came immediately
to the said Vaughan, says that the said Vaughan
told this Informant that he lived in the Broad
sanctuary Westminster , that he Treated with
him about Engraving a Seal and a Book plate
that he then gave him a Paper now produced
and asked him this Informant if he could Engrave
that for him which he agreed to do, says that he
madeproduced a Drawing of a Britania upon
a Plate for the Approbation of the said Vaughan
which the said Vaughan disliked, and directed
this Informant to keep close to the Copy he had
given him, and gave him particular Instructions
for that purposes, and this Informant says that
he then Employed one Mr. Ellis to Engrave the
writing of the Copy, given to him by the said Vaughan
