Charles Luffkins< no role > of Saint Martin's Le Grand London Chandler
Ann< no role > the wife of William Wakeman< no role > of Noble Street London Last
maker and John Smith< no role > of St. Martin's Le Grand afd. Cheesemonger
severally make Oath and first the said Charles Luffkins< no role > for himself
saith that being bound by Precogneizance before the Right Hon.
The Lord Mayor on Wednesday last to prosecute the law against
the above named Defondant for stealing two pewder pint pots
the Goods of this Depont. He this Deponent accordingly Attended
this Honourable Court with his WItnesses the other Depont. above
named on Thursday last and preferred an Indictment for the said
fact and afterwards on that Day and also on Friday and
Saturday Attended to give their Evidence upon the Trial
which not coming on the this Deponent with his said &
Witnesses attended again by nine of the Clock this Morning
(without Break fasting in order to be in a readiness) and waited
in the Court Yard till near elven o'Clock when it was there talked of
and understood by the persons waiting that a Trial for perjury
was coming on which would last two or three Hours Where upon
this Dept. and his Witnesses went to a neighbouring Public House to
refresh & warne themselves and return'd again in less than Half an house
when they were informed that they had been called to prosecute in
such their absence and this dept. saith that he did not absent
himself with his Witnesses as aforesd. to hinder the Execution of
Justice but meorly by mistake as aforesaid and the Deponents
Ann Wakeman< no role > and John Smith< no role > for themselves Severally say that
