The Humble Petition of the Churchwardens and
overseers of the poor of the Several parishers of St. Giles without
Cripplegate St. Botolph without Aldgate St. Andrew Wardrobe St.
Catherine Coleman St. Andrew Holbourn St. Sepulchers St. Brides
alhallows on the Wall St. Botolph Aldersgate and St. Botolph
without Bishopsgate London
Sheweth
That Your Petitioners are very much Over burthened with poor & not able to
raise Sufficient since of mony amongst themselves to relieve them
notwithstanding their assements are greater than heretofore Yet the Charge
of the poor is par above their assessments as the same upon Examinacon
hath divers times appeared to serveral Worthy Aldemen of this City
appointed to hear the same And their poor daily increasing upon
their said parishes some of them lying near the Suburbs and others
of them in the Suburbs of this City
Their humble Suit therefore to Your Honour & Worps is
that You will be favourably pleased to grant unto them the
Contributions of the other parishes within this City for and
towards the relief of their poor as they have formerly had
which are perticularly hereunder menconed or Such further
Allowance as to your Honour & Worps shall seem meet
