Waterman Admitted an Evidence on his Majestys behalf I taken this 8th. day of
October 1784 before me One of his Majestys Justices
of the Peace
in and for the said County
Who being on his Oath Saith that about Ten O'Clock in the Evening
of Thursday the 30th. day of September last being then at the
Causeway of the upper Water
Gate at Deptford in the County of
Kent

two prisoners now
her present applied to him this Informant and asked him
to Carry them Off on Board the Whit by an Armed Ship then
lying at the Kings Moorings, to which he Consentedand
That they then asked him how much he was to have for
Carrying them Off. When he told them one Penny Each< no role >
That they got into the Boat and on her way to the Ship
they asked Informant of he would Carry them to London
and as they had a Copper to take to London asked them how
much he would havewhen he told them three shillings
That as they were going up the side of the Ship they told him
they would give him half a Crown. but Informant refusing
to take that Money. and preparing to got on Shore. they then
told him they would give him three shillingsWhereupon
They told him to wait along side the Ship. which he did for
about the space of one hour when they Lowered the Double
Copper now produced into hid Boat. and immediately afterwards
the Iron Boat Grapnell likewise now produced. and which being
