Surveyor lays before
Commee. plans &c.The Surveyor attended with the Plans Elevations and
Sections for the Mens Prison which were approved, but he
having stated that the Estimate would depend very much
on the Quantity and Quality of the old Materials now
on the Premises,

Ordered that the Surveyor do give directions to have
the old Building pulled down, the Rubbish removed
and the several Materials properly sorted, in order that the
Value thereof may be particularly ascertained.

Notice to be given to
former Contractor.Ordered that the Clerk do forthwith give Notice to the
Attorney of the former Contractor and his Sureties that the
Workmen will begin the said Works on the 25th. Instant.

for a Room to read
Prayers to the
Prisoners in.The Chaplain having requested that a Room be
appropriated for the purpose of reading Prayers to the
Prisoners and the Surveyor having suggested that part of
the Room on the Ground Floor in the Women's Prison may be
very conveniently adapted for that purpose,

Ordered that the Surveyor do give directions for dividing the
said Room and fitting up a part of it accordingly.
